- Junior Metallurgical Engineer in Reliability Engineering Section is responsible to provide support services on fields of Material science to the Maintenance Division. To perform its responsibility, Minimum works are as follows:
- Responsible for resolving problems in corrosion (thinning) control and materials performance
- (including degradation) affecting the refinery process and utilities units.
- Interface with refinery personnel and provide expert advice and front line technical support to
- maintenance and operation on all “Corrosion control” activities throughout the refinery.
- Monitor corrosion within the refinery units and provide recommendations periodically to
- minimize/control the corrosion rate.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the corrosion inhibitors in the refinery and assist the refinery in
- benchmarking the “Corrosion control” practices with other practices used in the industry.
- Perform “ material damage” failure investigations and special “ material damage” related studies.
- Review “ material damage” mitigation and monitor activities in the field to identify needed system modifications or procedural changes.
- Initiate and conduct special studies to minimize/control the “ material damage” in the refinery units to improve the facilities operation.
- Select, coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors for additional support activities when required.
- Overseeing application and interpretation of Vietnamese material and metallurgical codes and other applicable codes and standards
- Be mentor to the less experience engineers in the group
- Other reasonable works as requested by his boss.
- Graduated University (Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical or equivalent)
- Work Experience : Min 2 years
- English Skill: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
- Skills/Abilities: Has sound knowledge of international codes/standards applicable to Metallurgical and inspection (ASTM, API, ASME, TEMA, NACE, ANSI, BS, DIN, ISO etc.,).
- Has thorough knowledge of various forms of “material damage” (corrosion, erosion, degradation, etc.) and their identification along with monitoring and mitigation methods.
- Has through knowledge in refinery processes is required. Also, experience in chemical inhibitors treatment, cathodic protection, material selection and coating protection is required.
- Be able to work independently in a new work situation and guide/train less experienced staffs work with.
- Computer skills (word, excel, access, etc.) needed to maintain the Refinery electronic condition monitoring and historical database.
- Write high quality letters, reports and design packages to enable implementation of engineering recommendations.
